The Newton Community School District was looking to end its use of the community baseball fields and build its own. The prime location was an empty field just south of the district’s football and softball field facilities. The addition of this baseball field fulfilled the desire for a unified athletic complex.
The field’s surface is synthetic turf and can be used for both practice and competition. The project included integrated bull pens, new dugouts, batting cages, backstop netting, athletic lighting, and a pad for the owner to add its own 275 seat bleacher system. The project also included new turf on the nearby football field as well as infrastructure for future Concessions and scoreboards at the baseball and softball complex.
